Assignment 12
Learning Objectives
- create a logistic regression model
- predict a binomial value
- evaluate statistical significance of model parameters
Data Files & Tools
Tasks
- Divide the provided data set into random two subsets: a training data set (70%) and a test data set (30%).
- Construct a logistic regression model to predict the probability of a passenger surviving the Titanic accident.
- Test the statistical significance of all parameters and eliminate those that have a p-value > 0.05
- Test the model against the test data set and determine its prediction accuracy (as a percentage correct).
- Determine if the model has bias, e.g., false positives (someone is called dead when they actually survived) vs false negatives (someone classified as survived when they actually died).
